Director Calls on Ethiopian CGS

The EASF Director Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa on Wednesday 2nd September 2020 made a courtesy call to the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces H.E General Adem Mohammed in Addis Ababa.

The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest between EASF and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia as the Host Nation to two EASF Structures, namely, the Force Headquarters and the Logistics' Base. They also shared discussions on matters of Peace and Security in the Eastern Africa region. The CGS commended EASF for its preparedness and urged the Mechanism to remain mandate-focused.

During the visit, the Director also apprised the CGS on the proposed EASF Strategic Plan 2021-2025 and the projected Experts Working Group on the same to be conducted in Addis Ababa within the month of September 2020.
