EASF Bids Farewell to United Kingdom's Technical Advisor

The Eastern Africa Standby Force held a farewell ceremony for the outgoing Technical Advisor from United Kingdom, Lt. Colonel Ewen Turner after successful completion of his tour of duty on 5th September 2019.

On behalf of the Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, the Joint Chief of Staff Major General (Dr) Charles Rudakabana thanked the Government and the people of the United Kingdom for supporting the Standby Force both technically and financially ever since its inception in 2004. He reflected on the numerous contributions made by United Kingdom to EASF especially in capacity building over the last fifteen years which have in turn helped in enhancing the Full Operational Capability (FOC) gained by EASF in 2014.

The Government of the United Kingdom teamed up with the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark to provide EASF with state of the art Force Headquarters Start-Up kit as well as modern Command and Control Communications Information Systems including Satellite Communications Systems from 2015 to 2019. Through his efforts to achieve many milestones, Lt Col Turner has left a remarkable footprint on EASF's development track.
