Danish Delegation pays Courtesy Call to EASF

The Danish delegation paid a courtesy call to EASF on  19th January 2017 at the Secretariat Headquarters in Nairobi. The Danish delegation of six was headed by Maj Gen Hans-Christian Mathiesen, Chief of the Army Staff, Denmark.

During the visit, the EASF management, headed by Amb Issimail Chanfi, updated the team on the status of development of EASF and the prospects of deployment of the force. Maj Gen Hans-Christian Mathiesen reaffirmed the commitment of the Danish Government to continue working in partnership with EASF on matters of peace and security on the continent.  Others in the delegation were Col Soren Knudsen, who is the Chair of the Friends of EASF, Col Joern Rasmussen, the Danish Military Advisor, Maj Gen Tai Gituai, the EASF Joint Chief of Staff  and Brig Albert Kendagor, the Head of Peace Operations Department,

The Danish Government has been supporting EASF in various areas since 2009.  This includes development of the maritime cell, upgrade of the EASF ICT infrastructure, implementation of the communication strategy and enhancement of the early warning  function.
