African Standby Force Delegation Pays Courtesy Call to EASF

A delegation of the African Standby Force (ASF) led by Chief of the Staff, Air Vice Marshal Brian Chikonzo, paid a courtesy call to the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya, on 1 April 2022.

The aim of the visit was to discuss on how to improve existing relations between EASF and ASF.

The delegation held fruitful discussions with the EASF Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa and other EASF senior management members, including the heads of Components. During the discussions, EASF PLANELM Joint Chief of Staff, Brig Gen PSC Dr Osman Mohamed Abbas, delivered a brief presentation to apprise the delegation on EASF.

The discussions focused mainly on devising mechanisms to improve the coordination between ASF and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Regional Mechanisms (RMs).
