Erroneous Media Reports: Setting the Record Straight

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) would like to make the following statement and clarify the erroneous points and misinterpretation in respect to the articles published in “The East African” newspaper on Monday 24th June 2019 and in the “Daily Nation” on 23rd June 2019. We have officially requested that the Media House makes the necessary corrections in their next edition.
EASF Conducts a Press Conference
Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held a Press Conference after the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) on 20th June 2019, at the EASF Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya.
Distinguished Visitors Day Successfully Concludes
Prior to the successful conclusion of the two weeks' Force Headquarters Training, the Eastern Africa Standby Force had earlier on tagged the Distinguished Visitors Day (DVD) tagged on the 20th day of June 2019.
Condolences to the Government and People of Mali
The Eastern Africa Standby Force has learned with profound shock about the murder of over 95 innocent civilians in the Republic of Mali on 11th July 2019.
EASF FHQ Training Commences
The Eastern Africa Standby Force launched its Force Headquarters Training at the Kenya Commercial Bank Leadership Training Center in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya on 10th June 2019.
African Union Verifies EASF’s Readiness
An African Union Verification team conducted a physical assessment of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) on 7th June 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya.
Director Meets Rwanda Defence Chiefs
The EASF Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh held a meeting with top Rwanda Defence Officials on 3rd June 2019 in Kigali, Rwanda.
Media Training Successfully Concludes
A five-day On-line Media Training course for personnel in the Communications' Department which started on 27th May came to a successful conclusion on Friday 31st May 2019 at Karen, Nairobi, Kenya.
Burundi CDF and EASF Director Hold Talks
In preparations for the upcoming Policy Organs' Meetings to be held in July in Bujumbura Burundi, the Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, held a consultative meeting with the Burundi Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Prime Niyongabo in Bujumbura on 31st May 2019.
Congratulating United Nations Peace-Keepers
The entire Eastern Africa Standby Force fraternity takes this opportunity to congratulate peace-keepers all over the world during the International Day of United Nations (UN) Peace-Keepers which is celebrated on 29th May of each year.
EASF Takes Part in Comoros President's Inauguration Ceremony
The EASF Director, Dr. Abdilahi Omar Bouh represented the organization during the inauguration of President Azali Assoumani in Moroni, Comoros on 26th May 2019. Earlier, the Government of the Union of Comoros had invited EASF to take part in elections' observations in March 2019.
