Initial Planning Conference for FTX 2017 Concludes
In accordance with the EASF approved calendar of Activities 2017, EASF Conducted the Field Training Exercise (FTX) 2017's Initial Planning Conference in Khartoum, Sudan from 3rd – 7th April, 2017.

The Danish Foreign Affairs Committee visited EASF Friday 10th March. The Committee was headed by Mr. Mogens Lykketoft, former Danish minister and in 2016 the Chairman of the United Nations General Assembly.
Committee of Chiefs of Defence in Kampala
The Chiefs of Defence Staff met in Kampala for the 2nd Ordinary Meeting of the Committee of Eastern Africa Standby Force Chiefs of Defence Staff. The meeting forms part of the Policy Organs meetings that are conducted regularly to provide guidance for executing the affairs of EASF.
Procurement of Forward Force HQ Communications' Equipment Begins
The Nordic Advisory and Coordination Staff (NACS) entered a contractual agreement on 6th March 2017 with a Kenyan ICT Solutions' provider, Smoothtel (K) Ltd, for the latter's procurement and installation of Command and Control's Communication Information Systems (C2CIS).
