As a woman, I feel very proud that women are being celebrated worldwide. I mean, isn't it amazing to see how the world has set aside this important day for the woman race? There are a thousand and one reasons to celebrate women. And of course everyone has a reason for celebrating women. As for me, being a woman in the peace and security space, my celebration is anchored on the wins we have recorded ever since the ground breaking UN Security Council Resolution 1325 was unanimously passed over two decades ago.

EASF and NARC Strengthen Cooperation at 46th AU Executive Council

Addis Ababa, 13th February 2025 – On the sidelines of the 46th African Union (AU) Executive Council meeting, the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held a productive meeting with the North African Regional Capability (NARC) at AU Headquarters. The meeting, aimed at bolstering collaboration between the two entities, was attended by Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, Director of the EASF Secretariat, and Mr. Ahmed Tajouri, Executive Secretary of NARC.

EASF Director Attends 46th AU Executive Council Session in Addis Ababa

AU Executive CouncilBrigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuria Njema, Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), participated in the 46th Ordinary Session of the African Union (AU) Executive Council, held from February 12 to 13 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The two-day meeting brought together foreign ministers from AU member states, representatives from Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Regional Mechanisms (RMs), and other AU institutions.

Eastern Africa Standby Force Bids Farewell to Local Staff, Welcomes New Team

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – On January 16, 2025, the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Logistics Base and Logistics Training Center held a farewell ceremony for outgoing local staff marking the end of their tour of duty. The event also served as an opportunity to welcome the new local staff, who officially began their duties on January 1, 2025.
