3 September 2026, Nairobi, Kenya - The Chairperson of Friends of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), Colonel Lasse Sand, paid a courtesy call on the EASF Director, Brigadier General Ronald Rwivanga, at the EASF Secretariat in Nairobi on Thursday.

Nairobi, 31 August 2026 - Special Envoys from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) paid a courtesy call on the Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), Brigadier General Ronald Rwivanga, and formally handed him an official invitation to attend the forthcoming Regional Conference of Chiefs of Defence Forces on Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW).

President Museveni Receives EASF Director at State House, Entebbe
ENTEBBE, Uganda, 13 August 2026- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni received the Director of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF), Brig. Gen. Ronald Rwivanga, at State House, Entebbe, on 13 August 2026.
The meeting took place on the margins of the 36th EASF Ordinary Policy Organs Meetings being held in Kampala.
Brig. Gen. Rwivanga briefed the President on EASF activities and ongoing efforts to strengthen the region’s peace and security architecture.
Chiefs of Defense and Security Meet in Kampala for 36th EASF Policy Organs Session
Kampala, Uganda – 13 August 2026 – The 36th Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Policy Organs Meetings continued in Kampala on Thursday with the opening of the Committee of Chiefs of Defense and Security (EACDS), bringing together senior military leaders from across Eastern Africa to deliberate on regional security priorities and the future readiness of the Force.

KAMPALA, Uganda, 12 August 2026- The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Experts Working Group (EWG) has concluded a three-day meeting in Kampala, paving the way for the presentation of its key findings and recommendations to the EASF Chiefs of Staff.
