EASF's Leadership Calls on Russian Ambassador

An EASF delegation led by the Director, Brig. Gen. Getachew Fayisa, called on the Russian Ambassador Dmitry Maksimychev at the Embassy in Nairobi on 29th April 2021.

The visit aimed at updating the Russian officials on the progress which the Standby Force has been making ever since the last visit by EASF's former leadership on 28th February 2019.

In spite of the challenges posed the the global COVID-19 pandemic, EASF has, by and large, been successfully implementing its Activity Plan 2021. Among this year's highlights include the planning, roll out, play and conclusion of Command Post Exercise code named Mashariki Salama III, which is planned to take place around the end of the year in Nairobi.

During the meeting, the Director was accompanied by the Head of Administration and Finance Ms. Lina Peggy Hoareau and the Joint Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Dr. PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas Osman.

Assisting the Russian Ambassador was the Embassy's Counsellor Mr. Dmitry Makarov.
