Setting standards for Integrated Mission Planning
AU has launched today a pilot training with the aim to standardize the integrated mission planning course. A group of participants from Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and Regional Mechanisms (RMs) are participating in a two weeks training course in Karen,Nairobi between 28 February to 11 March,2022
During the opening ceremony, the Director of EASF, highlighted the main objectives of the course namely; establishing AU minimum standards for Integrated Mission Planning for ASF and other African-led Peace Support Operations (PSOs), Provide multidimensional training audiences with the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes appropriate for integrated mission planning and providing participants with practical experiences and lessons on multidimensional Mission Planning for ASF and other African-led PSOs.
The course is aimed at piloting or testing the draft standardized Integrated Mission Planning Curriculum (IMPC) as part of capacity building for ASF planners to effectively plan and implement AU PSOs. The course is a collaboration of the AU Peace Support Division, British Peace Support Team-Africa and regional economic communities and regional mechanisms.
