National Defence College of Nigeria Calls on EASF Secretariat

A group of Officers from the National Defence College of Nigeria recently paid a courtesy call to the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, Kenya.

The Director of EASF, Ambassador Chanfi Issmail, welcomed the the Officers at the Secretariat's Headquarters in Karen. He informed the Officers of the progress EASF has made especially after attaining its Full Operational Capability (FOC) in 2014. EASF is in a position to intervene in crises situaions and avert possible humanitarian disasters; the Organisation, however, can only deploy when mandated to do so by its mother Organisation, the African Union (AU).

The Director stressed on the need to continously train and maintain the Organisation's capacity in Peace Support Operations.

The Officers expressed great appreciation of EASF efforts to bring and maintain peace within Eastern Africa.
