EASF and Friends in a Sharing Session

Friends of EASFEASF conducted a meeting with its Friends on 28th April 2016 in Nairobi.  The meeting is convened on a regular basis to review progress of EASF and to discuss issues of mutual interest in relation to the planned activities.

The meeting was chaired by Col Soren Knudsen from Denmark from the Royal Danish Embassy in Nairobi and Ambassador Issimail Chanfi, Director of EASF. In his opening remarks Col Knudsen commended EASF for making progress in its advanced integration and multidimensionality.  He also stressed the need for conducting affordable, optimized training as a key component of the standby force as well as a comprehensive development plan specifically aimed at addressing various needs of EASF.

The Director, in his opening statement, noted that the purpose of the meeting was to further enhance areas of cooperation between EASF and the Friends. He acknowledged the dedication of the Friends in supporting the development of EASF.


Participants of the meeting included representatives from Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
