EASF Director meets with New Chair of Friends of EASF

EASF Director Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa met with the new Chair of Friends of EASF (FoEASF), Col. Jeng G. Lindvig, who is also Denmark’s Defence Attaché to Kenya, this morning in Nairobi.

This being the first meeting since the new Chair of FoEASF took over the chairmanship from the previous one, the EASF director welcomed the latter and briefed him on major EASF affairs. During the discussion, the EASF Director apprised Col. Lindvig on preparations underway for the upcoming Command Post Exercise (CPX), codenamed ‘MASHARIKI SALAAM 2022’, due to take place in March this year. He thanked the FoEASF for the support and funding of activities of EASF, and appreciated the important role of the Chair in mobilizing members of FoEASF.

The EASF Director was accompanied by the Joint Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. Dr. PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas, and the Military Assistant to the Director, Lt. Col. Bonaface Chomba.

The Friends of EASF is a group of countries all over the world who organized themselves under this name to support the efforts of EASF working for peace, security and stability in the Eastern Africa region.
