EASF conducts African Integrated Peace Operations Course

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) conducted, from 6 to 11 November 2022 in Moroni, Comoros, an African Integrated Peace Operations Course (AIPOC), sponsored by the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre (FINCENT).

The course was aimed at enhancing the knowledge and understanding of integrated crisis management approaches, strengthen collaboration and coordination amongst the different actors namely Military, Police and Civilian components.

“I’m very pleased to see a room full of experts in their own fields of expertise. I wish a lot of good communication and ideas to be discussed during this course” said FINCENT Commandant, LT. COL. Niclas von Bonsdorff. He also thanked EASF, FINCENT and the hosting nation on their excellent work.

The course participants, from the EASF Member States, were exposed to the African Peace & Security Architecture (APSA) and to EASF’s approach to PSOs including the principles of humanitarian assistance in conflict areas.
