EASF Roster Verification Exercise in the Republic of Burundi

Ambassador Diedone Ndabarushimana from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Burundi extended a warm welcome to the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) as they commenced the EASF Roster verification in the Republic of Burundi.

 

Heading the team was Dr. Leah Barasa, the Head of the Civilian Component, accompanied by Planning Training and Evaluation Officer Ms. Allen Ruhangataremwa, Assistant Human Resource Officer Ms. Irene Kingori, and Administrative Assistant Ms. Fridah Mungania. The Civilian Component plays a crucial role in mission leadership and administration by addressing political challenges, supporting mandate execution, and engaging with local stakeholders.

Dr. Leah Barasa emphasized the importance of platforms like the Strategic Headquarters, Capability Development, and Rostering in enhancing the accessibility of the African Standby Roster and recruitment policies. This strategic approach aims to facilitate the swift deployment of civilians to peace operations, ensuring effective and timely responses to regional crises.
