New Director Joins EASF

EASF has received a new Director, Brig Paul Kahuria Njema, who takes over from Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa who has served as EASF’s Director from 2020. The handover ceremony took place at the EASF Secretariat in Karen Nairobi on 19^th May 2023 and was attended by among others, the Chairperson of Friends of EASF, the EASF management team and EASF staff.

Addressing EASF staff, the outgoing Director, thanked all the personnel for their hard work and dedication and friends of EASF for their continued patronage. 

The new Director, Brig Gen Paul Njema pledged his commitment to ensure that EASF moves to a higher level of operation in its effort to execute its mandate of enhancing peace and security in the region. He noted that he is very much an action-oriented person with knowledge from the field. ‘’ I count on the support of all staff, you are in your respective positions because you were selected as the best and I expect the best from you’’. Brig Njema concluded his remarks by inviting the partners to maintain and further strengthen the existing collaboration with EASF.

The new Director was presented with the Instruments of Power and relevant Legal Documents by the outgoing Director and the event ended with tree planting and a special lunch for all staff.
