Outgoing and Incoming Director Handover In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) incoming Director, Brig Paul Kahuria Njema, visited the Structures of EASF based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia that include the Force HQs and Logistics Base accompanied by the outgoing Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa, and the Head of Administration and Finance, Col Mohamed Barkat Aden for the Office handover function.

The Force Commander, Brig Gen Vincent Gatama, the Chief of Staff of the Logistics Base, Col Ahmed Essa and the EASF Liaison Officer at the African Union Commission, Mr Vincent Dindon made presentations on their respective Structures and Offices which highlighted the current status, achievements, challenges and way forward. The New Director, Brig Paul Kahuria Njema made a tour of the Force Headquarters, Logistics Base as well as the Logistics Training Center.

After the traditional tree planting ceremony, the new Director addressed all staff based in Addis Ababa where he expressed gratitude for the work done so far that allows the Organization to fulfil its obligations and implement its mandate. He underscored the need for continued team effort in pursuance of the EASF Vision and Mission including Strategic Goals and Objectives for the success of EASF.
