Rwanda Defence Attache Calls on EASF Director

The Rwanda Defence Attache at the Embassy in Nairobi, Brig. Gen. Joseph Demali paid the EASF Director Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa a courtesy call at the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi on 30th October 2020.

The meeting  was also attended by the the Head of Peace Operations Department Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke, the Joint Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas Osman and the EASF Liaison Officer to African Union Col. John N. Njoroge.

During the meeting, the two leaders extensively discussed matters pertaining to peace and security in the Eastern Africa region. The Defence Attache was also updated on the recent accomplishments the Standby Force has made, including the successful roll out, play and conclusion of the EASF's Elections' Observer Mission to the Republic of Seychelles.

The Republic of Rwanda is one of the 10 Member States that comprise the Eastern Africa Standby Force.
