EASF Observers Safe and Sound
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) deployed 27 observers yesterday on all three islands of the Union of Comoros. The Eastern Africa Standby Force Election Observation Mission (EASF EOM) is led by retired Lt. Gen. Germain Niyoyankana, former Defence Minister of the Republic of Burundi.
EASF EOM Preparations in Comoros Conclude
On the eve of the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections in the Union of Comoros, the deployed team of experts from the Eastern Africa Standby Force confirmed on 23rd Mach 2019 that it had put up all necessary mechanisms in place to ensure that it delivers on its mandate.

The Eastern Africa Standby Force conducted the inaugural ceremony of it's Elections' Observations' Mission to the Union of Comoros on Wednesday 20th March 2019 in the capital city, Moroni, Comoros.
EASF Stands with the Government and People of New Zealand
The entire Eastern Africa Standby Force fraternity expresses its deepest sympathy to the Government and the people of New Zealand following the cowardly terrorist attacks on 15th March 2019 at two mosques during Fridays' prayers' sessions whereby at least 49 people were killed and many more seriously injured.
