Director Reviews EASF's Progress in 2021

The EASF Director Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa, delivered an in-depth analysis of the progress made by the Standby Force in the course of the year at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi on 8th December 2021.

Addressing members of staff during the session, Brig Gen Fayisa commended all players for their numerous contributions made during the year, which have culminated into the organization's achievement of the year's goals as set out in the 2021 Activity Plan. He attributed these milestones to unwavering engagement of the African Union, the 10 EASF Member States, individual Members of Staff, the Friends and Partners of EASF and other roll players.

The Director pledged his commitment to steer the organization towards achievement goals set out in the upcoming 2022 Activity Plan as well as in the organization's Strategic Plan. Among these include the further enhancement and maintenance of the Full Operational Capability (FOC) attained in 2014 which is heavily anchored on capacity building through acquisition of requisite knowledge and skills in the entire peace-keeping arena.

The ceremony was also attended by the outgoing Chairperson of the Friends of EASF, Colonel Joern Rasmussen, who participated in the traditional tree-planting exercise at the Secretariat. Colonel Rasmussen leaves a remarkable footprint in EASF's capacity-building efforts, for initiating and overseeing numerous projects that were meant to support the Standby Force's endeavors, in executing its mandate.
