EASF and the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark Sign Agreement
H. E. Amb. Mette Knudsen of the Royal Danish Embassy and Amb. Issimail Chanfi, Director of EASF signed a project document for the EASF-Danish cooperation at a ceremony held at the EASF Secretariat on 9th September 2016 in Karen, Nairobi.
EASF Peace Operations Department Takes Off
The recently established Peace Operations Department (POD) has commenced with its operations. The department was established following restructuring of EASF to accomodate the growing needs and to better prepare the organization for possible deployment.
EASF Conducts an Integrated Mission Planning Course
EASF successfully conducted an Integrated Mission Planning (IMP) Course from 1st to 12th August 2016 at the International Peace Support Training Center (IPSTC) in Karen, Nairobi.
EASF Concludes Force Headquarters' Training
In accordance with the EASF approved activity plan 2016, EASF successfully conducted a Force Headquarters' (FHQ) Staff training course in order to prepare the Standby Force Headquarters' staff for any AU/EASF mandated Peace Support Operation (PSO).
EASF Director Partcipates in Exercise Eastern Accord 2016
The Director, EASF Amb Issimail Chanfi participated in the Exercise Eastern Accord (EA 16), conducted at the Peace Keeping Training Centre in Kunduch, Tanzania on July 21st 2016.
Another Maritime Cell Highlight for June 2016
EASF successfully organized and rolled out a two-week Search and Rescue course for its Maritime Component in Rwanda in June 2016. The aim of the course was to enhance the capacity of the military personnel under maritime surveillance and increase performance.
