CIVIC Delegation Pays Courtesy Visit to EASF

EASF received a courtesy visit from a delegation from CIVIC (Centre for Civilians In Conflict). The delegation was headed by Mr Zlatko Gegic, the Regional Director for East Africa. CIVIC is an International Non-Governmental Organisation based in the United States. CIVIC, which started as Campaign for Innocent Victims in Conflicts was founded in 2003 by Marla Ruzicka.

 Their work extends across the world in collaboration with governments, armed forces and international organisations to advance the agenda of Protection of Civilians (PoC) and Civilian Harm Mitigation (CHM). CIVIC is now branching out across more regions. In East Africa, the Organization is based in Nairobi, Kenya. Its three main work approaches are;

• Civilians focused
• Pragmatic
• Collaborative

The courtesy visit to EASF was aimed at giving an overview of the INGO while proposing areas of possible cooperation with EASF.
