EASF Management Retreat in Mombasa

Group PhotoThe Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) conducted from 17th March in Mombasa (Kenya) of a two-days Executive Management Retreat themed “Strengthening EASF Mandate and Performance in the Region”. The main purpose of the Retreat was to provide Management Team with a platform to reflect and evaluate the Organization in order to assess how well it is achieving its goals.

It was an opportunity for discussions on a way forward for EASF, by identifying gaps and challenges which are hindering the performance of the Organization.

The EASF Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa, highlighted the fact that the “Retreat should be an opportunity for all, to bring views together to strengthen the Organization”. He urged “open contribution and active participation of all using knowledge and experience to prepare the EASF Future”.

The Heads of Departments, Structures and Components made their respective presentations which included achievements, challenges and way forward. After the deliberations, several recommendations have been raised as concrete solutions that will make EASF more effective in “Enhancing Peace and Security in the Eastern Africa Region”.
