Comoros hosts Policy Organs Meetings

The EASF 18th Policy Organs Meetings kicked off on Monday, 2 Feb 2015 in Moroni, Union of Comoros.

The Experts Working Group (EWG) meeting was officially opened by Hon Hussein Hassan, Minister for Home Affairs of the Union of Comoros, accompanied by Hon Hamadi Madi, Director of Cabinet in charge of Defence.

In his opening remarks, Hon Hassan commended EASF for being ahead of all the other Standby Forces, having attained Full Operational Capability (FOC) in December 2015.

The three-day meeting brings together technical experts from the ten EASF Member States to discuss policy issues related to management of the organization. Top on the agenda will be issues related to operationalization of the joint multidimensional force which has been training and conducting joint Exercises for the last ten years.

The Experts meeting will be followed by the Eastern Africa Committee of Defence Staff and the Council of Ministers of Defence and Security.
