ministersEASF celebrated the International Day of Peace on 21st September 2015  in Nairobi, Kenya.  The day was conducted alongside an open day branded the EASF Day.

The Day was organised under the overall theme for the World International Day of Peace 2015, "Partnerships for Peace - Dignity for All". 

The 1-day event was graced by Ambassador Raychelle Omamo, Cabinet Secretary for Defence of the Republic of Kenya.  In her opening remarks  Omamo expressed appreciation of the efforts that EASF is contributing towards regional security and congratulated the organisation for being the first African Standby Force to declare Full Operational Capability (EASF) in preparation for deployment in peace support missions.

The Director of EASF, Ambassador Issimail, in his welcoming remarks, thanked the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of Defence and Security, Hon Joel Morgan, EASF Member States and the Friends of EASF, for their continued support, which, he said, has provided means to develop the organisation over the years.

Participants of the event included representatives from other institutions that deal with peace support operations, civil society organisations, students and lecturers from local universities, senior government officials as well as journalists.
