African Standby Capacity Annual Coordination Meeting is underway in Lusaka, Zambia, from 27-29 June 2022. The meeting was coordinated by personnel from the African Union, and chaired by the Chief of the Capacity Development Unit, Mr. Eustace Chiwombe.

EASF Launches AAR in Victoria, Seychelles
EASF launched in Victoria, Seychelles, its After Action Review (AAR) of the Command Post Exercise (CPX) 2022, on 6 June 2022. The aim of the five-day AAR is to evaluate the conduct of the EASF CPX-2022 which was conducted in March 2022. It will deliberate on the findings from the First Impression Report, enrich it, and draw lessons for future similar exercises as well as for EASF as an organization..

Civilian Recruitment in Comoros
On 30th May 2022, the EASF Civilian Roster Recruitment Exercise was launched officially at the Retaj Hotel in Moroni, Comoros by the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Comoros, Mr. Abdourahmane Said Bacar. African Union Extraordinary Summit on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes of Government
AU conducted its Extraordinary Summit on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes (UCG) in Africa on 28 May 2022, in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. The objective of the summit was to assess persistent threats, evaluate current response mechanisms, and decide on the specific actions and measures necessary to strengthen the collective security of Member States facing terrorism and violent extremism. The objective of the summit also includes, among other issues, deliberation on the recommendations in the Accra Declaration on Unconstitutional Changes of Government in Africa emanating from the AU Reflection Forum, held on 15-17 March 2022 in Accra, Ghana.
EASF Conducts Tree Planting in Burundi
EASF conducted Tree Planting in the Bujumbura Province of Burundi, on 25 May 2022, as part of the Youth for Peace Project. The major objective of the event was to promote and sensitive the youth of the EASF Member States on two key messages, viz.: protecting the environment and promoting peace.
