EASF in Solidarity with Somalis

Following the horrific terror attacks on civilians on Maka al-Mukarama road in Mogadishu, Somalia on 1st March 2019, the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) would like to issue the following statement.

The EASF fratenity strongly condemns the cowardly acts perpetrated on civilians in these attacks. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to all families and friends of those killed in the attack and wish a speedy recovery to the injured ones.

EASF joins hands with the rest of the region and the world in offering our support and solidarity to the Government of Somalia and its people in this difficult hour. Peace and security in the region is of the utmost importance to EASF and today, in the midst of this unfortunate event, we once gain call on everyone to denounce all forms of violence and conflict. We all need to join hands to promote peace and security in our region. We congratulate the law enforcement and national security agencies for their swift response in today's attacks.

In conclusion the Eastern Africa Standby Force would like to reiterate its support and solidarity to the people and Government of Somalia, let us remain united against all forms of terror and side by side we stand together for peace in our region.
