EASF hosts Ambassadors accredited to Kenya

EASF hosted Ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Kenya on 30th June 2015 at the Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya.   The aim of this session was to brief the ambassadors about the development of the Eastern Africa Standby Force and the Peace Fund  Conference proposed to take place later in the year.

In a statement read on her behalf by the Acting Principal Secretary of Defence, Ambassador Raychelle Omamo, Cabinet Secretary for Defence of the Ministry of Defence of Kenya, commended the work being carried out by the regional  Standby Force. She expressed confidence in the role of the Secretariat in coordinating all the EASF structures and the readiness of the Force to move into deployment.

EASF attained Full Operational Capability in December 2015 and has now moved to the deployment phase.
