EASF in Regional Early Warning Workshop
The African Union’s Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Division of the Peace and Security Department in collaboration with the UNDP Regional Bureau for Africa, organized a three days' workshop on Conflict Prevention, Early Warning and Horizon Scanning from 20th to 22nd March 2019, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
EASF Observers Safe and Sound
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) deployed 27 observers yesterday on all three islands of the Union of Comoros. The Eastern Africa Standby Force Election Observation Mission (EASF EOM) is led by retired Lt. Gen. Germain Niyoyankana, former Defence Minister of the Republic of Burundi.
EASF EOM Preparations in Comoros Conclude
On the eve of the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections in the Union of Comoros, the deployed team of experts from the Eastern Africa Standby Force confirmed on 23rd Mach 2019 that it had put up all necessary mechanisms in place to ensure that it delivers on its mandate.

Union of Comoros officially invites EASF to Observe General Elections
The Eastern African Standby Force has been officially invited by the Union of Comoros to observe the forthcoming general elections. The decree sets presidential and regional elections to be held on 24th March, 2019.
