Turkish Military Assistant Attache Calls on Director

The Turkish Military Assistant Attache at the Embassy in Nairobi Sergeant Major Taskin Kilic paid a courtesy call on the EASF Director, Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa on 22nd March 2021 at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi.

During the meeting, the Director took the guest through the activities of the Standby Force which are meant to ensure that peace and stability continue to prevail in the region.

EASF has been rolling out capacity building initiatives geared towards maintaining a fully deployable force should need arise anywhere in the region. The regional peace-keeper is also planning a Command Post Exercise (CPX) due to take place around the end of 2021. During the exercise, civilian, military and police personnel will work together in a headquarter-level simulation.

Also attending the meeting were the Internal Auditor Col. Acc. Dr. Mohammed Shumo and the Military Assistant, Lt. Col. Boniface Chomba.
