Danish Team Evaluates Program's Impact with EASF
Consistent monitoring and evaluation of any project during its implementation phase ensures that the desired end state is eventually achieved. This initiative also allows for timely adjustments meant to keep the project moving along its predefined path.
It is in this spirit that the Royal Danish Embassy dispatched a team of experts to the Eastern Africa Standby Force's Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi on 14th June 2021 to assess the joint cooperation program. Leading the team was the Deputy Ambassador, Ms. Nina Berg accompanied by the Defence Attache, Col. Joern Rasmussen among others.
Receiving the Danish team on behalf of the Director, Brig. Gen. Getachew Fayisa, was the Head of Peace Operations' Department Brig. Gen. Henry Isoke. Brig. Gen. Isoke was accompanied by the Head of Administration and Finance, Ms. Lina Peggy Hoareau, the Joint Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. PSC (Dr.) Osman Mohamed Abbas Osman, and other senior officials.
The team's main task was to assess the continued relevance and coherence of the program and its components in light of contextual changes and developments since its inception. Other areas of focus included the program's impact and sustainability, as well as its contribution to Women, Peace, and Security agenda among others.
The Government of the Royal Kingdom of Denmark has been supporting EASF in its capacity-building initiatives over many years.
