Director Calls on GIZ Boss

The EASF Director Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa paid a courtesy call to the GIZ Country Director, Mr. Bodo Immink at the GIZ Headquarters on Riverside Drive, Nairobi, on 10th November 2021.

During the meeting, Brig Gen Fayisa thanked the GIZ leader for having provided support to the Standby Force starting in 2009. The support included various projects meant to boost the organization's capacity building efforts. During that period, GIZ's focus was primarily on both the Police and Civilian Components.

At the same time, Director Brig Gen Fayisa reiterated his desire to rekindle the partnership between EASF and GIZ, which came to an end after the expiry of the mutual Memorandum of Understanding.

On this part, Mr. Immink thanked Brig Gen Fayisa for taking the initiative to reestablish the working relationship between the two organizations.

During the visit, the Director was accompanied by the Head of Peace Operations' Department Brig Gen Henry Isoke, the Joint Chief of Staff Brig Gen Dr. PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas, Head of Police Component Colonel Mohamed Ali Robleh, and the Military Assistant, Lt Col Boniface Chomba.
