FINCENT Delegation Calls on Director

A delegation of military officers from the Finnish Defence Forces International Centre (FINCENT) of Finland paid a courtesy call to the EASF Director Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, on 22nd November 2021.

The delegation, led by Lt Col Niclas von Bonsdorff, comprised former Civilian Adviser to EASF Mr Jouni Vainio and Maj Janne Karliaho.

The officers sought to inform themselves about the progress that the Standby Force has been making in terms of capacity building ever since its inception in 2004. FINCENT has fully funded the African Integrated Peace Operations Courses (AIPOC I and AIPOC II) whereby AIPOC II is scheduled to come to a conclusion on Friday, 26th November 2021.    

Together with the Director during the meeting were the Head of Administration and Finance Ms Lina Hoareau, the Head of Peace Operations' Department Brig Gen Henry Isoke, the Joint Chief of Staff Brig Gen Dr PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas, the Civilian Adviser who is also the Coordinator of International Advisory Coordinating Staff Mr. Peter Zartsdahl and the Military Assistant Lt Col Boniface Chomba.
