Turkish Ambassador Visits EASF

The Turkish Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Amb. Ahmet Cemil Miroglu visited the EASF Secretariat in Nairobi on Tuesday, 22nd May 2019. During this visit, Amb. Miroglu was accompanied by the Military Attache, Captain (N) M. Alp Silivri and TIKA Coordinator, Mr. Emre Yuksek.

The delegation was received and hosted by the EASF Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, accompanied by the Head of Peace Operations' Department, Major General Albert Kendagor and other EASF officials.

The meeting aimed at holding further discussions on EASF activities in the field of Capacity Building of personnel who could be deployed in the future. Special focus was put on diverse professional areas, police units, their trainings and regional security in general.

During the recent couple of months, Turkey has been showing a lot of interest in EASF activities. The country is also part of a team widely known as "Friends of EASF" which comprises over thirty global nations that came together to support EASF activities in Peace Support Operations.
