Enhancing coordination for the Police Component (2)
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) conducted a Police Points of Contact (PPOC) workshop in Mombasa, Kenya, from 9th – 12th March 2023. The aim was to update the nine Member States represented on the achievements, progress and challenges of EASF Police component and the need to keep an updated Police database.
ATMIS and EASF joint seminar
The opening ceremony of a Joint Seminar by the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) took place in Mogadishu, Somalia on Monday 6th March, 2023.
EASF Senior Management Work Visit to ATMIS
Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Director of the Secretariat, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa led on 5th March an EASF Delegation to Mogadishu. The objective is to strengthen the collaboration and the cooperation with the key stakeholders in Somalia.
31st Ordinary Policy Organs Council Meeting
The 31st Ordinary Policy Organs Meetings of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 9 to 14 February 2023. After the Experts Working Group (EWG) on 9-11 February, followed by the Eastern Africa Chiefs of Defense and Security (EACDS) on 12-13 February, the Council of Ministers of Defense and Security was held on 14 February 2023, under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Abraham Belay of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
