Category: News

The Eastern Africa Standby Force rolled out an Integrated Mission Planning Course (IMPC) at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) in Musanze, Rwanda on 14th September 2020.

Representing the EASF Director Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa during the opening ceremony was the Military Project Officer Lt. Col. Jean Bosco Muhizi.

The IMPC was officially opened by the Head of Training at the Rwanda Peace Academy, Maj. Marcel Mbabazi.

The course aims to increase the number of individuals drawn from Civilian, Police and Military Components from all 10 Member States that are qualified to operate as Staff Officers at either the Mission or Force Headquarters' level. It familiarizes participants with the EASF Operational Planning Process (OPP) and provides them with tools to conduct operational planning, where Military, Civilian, Police and Mission Support Components are integrated in a single Mission plan.

The two-weeks IMPC is being facilitated by 11 experts whereby 7 of them are from the Eastern Africa region. It is being funded through the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA).
