Category: News

The 22nd week of 2018 saw the Eastern Africa Standby Force roll out a two-week Integrated Mission Support (IMS) course at the Logistics' Training Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The course, which started on 28th May, is the second multidimensional IMS course planned for 2018.

The course aims to provide participants with essential knowledge, skills and attitudes which are required for effective planning, coordination and successful delivery of mission support to integrated multidimensional Peace Support Operations (PSOs), in accordance with AU policies and doctrine. A multidimensional PSO will usually involve civilian, police and military components.

Thirty participants from civilian, police and military backgrounds selected from EASF Member States are taking part in the course. These trainees could later be deployed as Mission Support Officers in PSO. The course is fully funded by the African Union.
