ECOWAS visits EASF

A three-member delegation from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) paid a courtesy call on the Director of the EASF, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh on Monday 10th December 2018, at the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi.

After the courtesy call, the delegation proceeded to the opening of a three-day workshop whereby both the ECOWAS and EASF counterparts are sharing experiences and knowledge on how best to populate the African Standby Capacity Database and other important issues.

In his introductory remarks, the Head of Civilian Component at EASF, Mr Steve Lalande highlighted the importance of managing the resource through effective rostering as part of standby capacity for peace support missions.

The workshop is being attended by EASF staff together with the ECOWAS delegation led by their Head of Civilian Component, Rostering Officer and Logistics Officer.
