EASF Conducts Police Training in Rwanda

A PTS Training has been successfully conducted at Police Training School GISHARI in Eastern Rwanda for Police Female AMS Pre-SAAT Instructors.

The five-days course was conducted from 17 to 21 October 2022 at the very professional training facility with 27 trainees, 14 female and 13 male, from 7 of EASF Member States. The trainees had an instructor-background, either from the EASF Police regional pool of certified trainers and others from Rwandan National Police.

EASF Concludes CSOs Engagement Seminar in Burundi.

The Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) seminar that was underway for two days in Bujumbura, Burundi, has come to conclusion on 4 November 2022. The objective of the seminar was to enhance the active engagement of CSOs with a particular emphasis on the empowerment the youth.

YOUTH AND CIVIL SOCIETY SEMINAR IN BURUNDI

A group of 50 youth gathered in Bujumbura, Burundi, to participate in the ‘Civil Society Engagement in Peace Initiatives’ seminar. The main objective of the seminar is to discuss the role and mandate of the National Youth Council and its strategy for the development of action plan on youth peace and security. In addition, the seminar intends to share with the youth form EASF Member States knowledge and skills in matters of civil society engagement in peace and security.

EASF Conducts Advanced Open Source Intelligence Course in Bujumbura

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) is conducting Advanced Open Source Intelligence Course in Bujumbura, Burundi from 24 – 28 October 2022. The course was launched officially by Mr. Ali Said Ali on 24 October 2022. The objective of the course is to provide knowhow on a broad range of advanced open source intelligence and investigative techniques with emphasis on techniques that support strategic and operational analysis and planning.

Minister Counsellor of Diaspora Affairs at Ethiopian Embassy Calls on EASF Director

The Minister Counsellor of Diaspora Affairs at the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) in Nairobi, Ms. Selam Adam Zerihun, paid a courtesy call on the Director of EASF, Brig Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Faysisa, on 24 October 2022 at the EASF Secretariat in Nairobi. The two sides discussed on the various areas where EASF and the Embassy can work together.

EASF Concludes HANDS Plan Operationalization Workshop

The Humanitarian Action and Disaster Support (HANDS) plan operationalization workshop came to conclusion today, 19 October 2022. The workshop developed a legal roadmap for operationalizing a regional HANDS response plan. The closing ceremony was presided over by the head of the EASF Peace Operations Department, Brig Gen Kabissa Domitien.
