Realign Conflict Management Strategies
Uganda’s Minister of State for East African Affairs, Hon Julius Magada, has called for realignment of strategies to fight conflict in the Eastern Africa region.
He was speaking during the opening session of the 21st Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defence and Security in Kampala, Uganda on 10th March 2017.
“It is important that we review the political and cultural dynamics which lead to various forms of conflict and war in the region, and also to re-align the regions strategies,” he said. He commended the collective efforts and commitment towards lasting peace, security and stability in region and the continent as a whole, as evidenced in the recently concluded successful Presidential elections and smooth transition of power in the Federal Government of the Somali Republic.
The meeting was chaired by Hon Ali Mohamed Salim, State minister of Defence of the Republic of the Sudan.
