EASF holds Meeting with the Friends and Partners

The Eastern Africa Standby Force held a meeting with the Friends and Partners of EASF on 27th April 2017 in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss its current developments, key decisions of 22nd Ordinary Council of Ministers meeting and future plans of the regional peace keeping force among others.

The EASF Director Dr Abdillahi Omar Bouh thanked those present for attending the important meeting despite their busy schedules. He highlighted the importance of the existing partnerships between EASF and international partners in the noble task of maintenance of peace and security in the Eastern Africa region and beyond.

The Director acknowledged the support and engagement of the Friends and Partners of EASF in mobilizing resources towards the further development of the regional peace keeper. The continued partnership would play an important role in moving the organization to greater heights.

The Chairman of the Friends and Partners of EASF who is also the Danish Defence Attache at the Embassy in Nairobi, Colonel Joern Rasmussen informed the meeting that the Friends and Partners of EASF will continue supporting the activities of the organisation to address its post Full Operational Capability (FOC) needs. These include capacity building and institutional development.

The Friends and Partners of EASF are Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
