EASF Calls on the Ambassador of Japan
The EASF Director, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, together with a team of senior members of staff, paid a courtesy call to the Japanese Ambassador to Kenya Amb. Toshitsugu Uesawa at the Embassy in Upper Hill, Nairobi on 12th September 2017.
The aim of the visit was to update the Ambassador on the consistent progressive strides the regional peacekeeper has been making ever since its inception.
Japan, one of EASF's strongest supporters, has been at the forefront of the organization's activities since 2009 under the umbrella of the UNDP/Japan Project. Among other undertakings, Japan massively supported the initial development of some key Peace Support Operations' tools, such as the Civilian Roster Database, which are of great value to EASF in drafting a balanced approach in matters of personnel capacity development.
Both leaders explored areas of possible cooperation in support and maintenance of the Full Operational Capability status which EASF attained in 2014.
The Director was accompanied by the Head of Peace Operations Department, Brigadier Albert Kendagor and the Military Assistant to the Director, Lt. Col. David Chesire.
