EASF and RECSA to Conclude Memorandum of Understanding
The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held a meeting with Regional Centre on Small Arms (RECSA) at the RECSA Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya on 27th September 2019. The meeting aimed at examining the status of the implementation of the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed in January 2014.
EAPCCO Magazine Editorial Team Visits EASF
Two officers from the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO) magazine editorial team visited the EASF Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi on 26th September 2019. The two officers, whose team is based in Nairobi and work under the Interpol Regional Office, were RSO Sosthenes Makuri and RSO Adooma Hazim.
A Joint Visit by UN and AU Delegation to EASF
A delegation from the United Nations Office in African Union (UNOAU) and the African Union Peace Support Operations Division (AU PSOD) paid a visit to the Eastern Africa Standby Force Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya on 25th September 2019.
Maritime Search and Rescue Course officially Opened in Entebbe, Uganda
A two weeks Maritime Search and Rescue course (SAR), has officially opened on 23rd September 2019 in Entebbe, Uganda. The course's aim is to train and equip naval, coastguard officers and maritime rescue coordination centers (MRCC) Staff with skills that enable them to respond to any emergencies or distress at sea.
EASF Commemorates International Day of Peace
The Eastern Africa Standby Force celebrated the International Day of Peace at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi, on 20th September 2019. This year, the 21st of September, which is the United Nation's official International Day of Peace, falls on a Saturday.
EASF Bids Head of Civilian Component Goodbye
The Eastern Africa Standby Force bid farewell to the outgoing Head of Civilian Component Mr Steve Lalande from the Republic of Seychelles on 20th September 2019. Mr. Lalande successfully headed the Civilian Component during the last three years.
EASF Participates in Save the Children Workshop
The Eastern Africa Standby Force took part in a "Save the Children" workshop which ran from 10th to 13th September 2019 at the Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Uganda.
Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Calls on Director
Kenya's Deputy Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Robert Kibochi, paid the EASF Director Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh, a courtesy call at the Secretariat on 12th September 2019.
EASF Receives New Military Chief of Staff
The EAST African Standby Force welcomed Colonel Abdallah Rafick from the Union of Comoros as its new Military Chief of Staff on Thursday 12th September 2019 at the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi.
EASF Bids Farewell to United Kingdom's Technical Advisor
The Eastern Africa Standby Force held a farewell ceremony for the outgoing Technical Advisor from United Kingdom, Lt. Colonel Ewen Turner after successful completion of his tour of duty on 5th September 2019.
EASF Management Calls on Kenya CDF
The Senior Management of the Eastern Africa Standby Force, led by the Director, Dr Abdillahi Omar Bouh called on the Kenya Chief of Defence Forces General Samson J. Mwathethe at the Department of Defence in Nairobi, Kenya in the middle of week 34 of 2019.
