EASF Launches Integrated Mission Support Course
The Eastern Africa Standby Force rolled out a two-weeks' Integrated Mission Support Course at the Logistics' Base in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 5th July 2021.
The training aims at providing participants with essential knowledge, skills and attitudes required for effective planning, coordination and successful delivery of mission support to Peace Support Operations whereby police, military and civilian personnel are to be deployed, in accordance with African Union's policies and doctrines.
The course was officially opened by Brig. Gen. Bulti Tadesse from the Defense Foreign Relations' Directorate of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. During the opening ceremony, the EASF Director Brig. Gen. Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa also addressed the course participants, underlining the importance of the course in context of peace support initiatives.
The training, which is scheduled to come to an end on 16th July 2021, is being funded through the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) IV programme.
