Humanitarian Action and Disaster Support Workshop Begins

In line with the approved Calendar of Activities 2021, the Eastern Africa Standby Force rolled out a Humanitarian Action and Disaster Support (HANDS) workshop in Moroni, Comoros on 29th November 2021.

Leading the EASF team from the Secretariat in Karen, Nairobi during the official opening of the workshop was Planning Element's Joint Chief of Staff, Brig Gen Dr. PSC Osman Mohamed Abbas.  

The first step in the actualization of HANDS generic framework is scenario development projected to be completed by December 2021. In this respect, the workshop seeks to develop diverse HANDS scenarios so as to enhance a common understanding of disaster and pandemic situations' management within the Eastern Africa region.

The HANDS workshop, which comes to a close on Friday 3rd December 2021, is fully funded by the Government of the Royal Kingdom of Denmark.
