EASF and NARC Strengthen Cooperation at 46th AU Executive Council

Addis Ababa, 13th February 2025 – On the sidelines of the 46th African Union (AU) Executive Council meeting, the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held a productive meeting with the North African Regional Capability (NARC) at AU Headquarters. The meeting, aimed at bolstering collaboration between the two entities, was attended by Brigadier (Rtd) Paul Kahuaria Njema, Director of the EASF Secretariat, and Mr. Ahmed Tajouri, Executive Secretary of NARC.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between the two regional mechanisms, which are part of the African Standby Force (ASF), a key component of the African Peace and Security Architecture. 

Both EASF and NARC expressed their commitment to improving information and knowledge sharing, prioritizing joint strategies, and undertaking collaborative initiatives to promote peace, security, and stability across the African continent. 

The two institutions agreed to strengthen their common approaches and positions to address regional and continental security challenges more effectively.
