EASF in AU's Peace and Security Council's Meeting
The Eastern Africa Standby Force took part in African Union's (AU) Peace and Security Council's meeting in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on 24th May 2019.
Representing EASF at the meeting were the Director, Dr Abdillahi Omar Bouh, the Joint Chief of Staff (JCoS) Major General (Dr) Charles Rudakabana and EASF Liaison Officer to AU Col. Abdilrashid Mohamed Ali.
In his keynote address to the Council, Dr. Bouh explained EASF's decision making processes which strictly follow AU's guidelines. These range all the way from early warning and conflict monitoring through strategic assessment and analysis, integrated mission planning to the tactical planning and operating models of EASF's components. The strategic, the mission, and the tactical processes provide a common and shared baseline for EASF staff, troops and components, he said.
EASF is one of the five Standby Forces on the African Continent which make up African Union's Standby Force.
