EASF Management Meeting with Djibouti Minister of Defence

The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Director, Brig Gen Getachew Shiferaw Fayisa, paid on 7^th May 2023, a courtesy call to the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Djibouti, Hon Hassan Omar Mohamed, accompanied by EASF Head of Administration and Finance, Col Mohamed Barkar Aden.

 The meeting addressed the security situation in the region and the positioning as well as the readiness of EASF to play its role in enhancing Peace, Security and Stability of its member states and beyond. It was also an opportunity for the EASF Management to commend the commitment of Hon Hassan Omar Mohamed, as a member of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the region(CoM), for his leadership and the wise guidance from the entire CoM.

The Minister of Defence reaffirmed the engagement of the Republic of Djibouti to support the implementation of the EASF Mandate and Missions. The Chair of the CoM in the year 2021 recalled the importance of the EASF according to the current security situation in the region. Hon Hassan Omar Mohamed also praised the EASF Management for well leading the Organization despite the numerous challenges faced in the last three years.
