Statement of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) on the Situation in Sudan

Nairobi, 18 April 2019: The Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) is following the current situation in the Republic of The Sudan and expresses its solidarity with the Sudanese people.

The EASF reaffirms its commitment for national unity and urges all stakeholders in the process to exercise utmost restraint, peace and to maintain the social harmony.

The EASF respects the sovereignty of the Republic of The Sudan and offers its support for a peaceful process for the security and stability of the region.

The EASF expresses its solidarity with the people of Sudan, and pledges its commitment and readiness to support Sudan during this period.
