EASF Participates in Africa Union Summit

The Eastern Africa Standby Force is participating in the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The 33rd Ordinary Session, which started on Thursday 28th, comes to an end on 29th June 2018.

Under the theme "Winning the fight against corruption: a sustainable path to Africa's

 transformation", the 33rd Ordinary Session will provide inputs for the 31st Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly planned to take place on 1st and 2nd July 2018.

Other topics on the agenda include Africa Union's budget for 2019, Institutional Reforms of the African Union, Continental Free Trade Area, Peace and Security in Africa and Election for various organs of the Union.

Representing the Standby Force at the Summit is the EASF Director, Dr. Abdillahi Omar Bouh accompanied by the Head of Peace Operations' Department, Brigadier Albert Kendagor.
